Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Karen relocated to South Florida where she graduated in the top of her High School class and attended college on a full academic scholarship, studying Engineering and Mathematical Sciences. Working her way through college she realized she was less interested in the technicalities of Engineering and more intrigued with the internal infrastructure of businesses. She shifted gears and began focusing her efforts on learning all the parts to a business and what it takes for the business to run like a well-oiled machine. With a heavy background in financials and Human Resources, she worked her way into upper management and then in 2007 established K-LO Enterprises, Inc, a Business Consulting Service specializing in gap analysis, documentation and processes. It is in this capacity that she joined RE/MAX Absolute Service Team in 2014 and began learning the Real Estate industry. In 2017 she decided to become licensed in Real Estate, and represent the differently abled community of South Florida. Karen is deaf. She was born with a degenerative hearing loss and has relied on lip reading for the better part of her life, as she navigated through the hearing world, never shying away from a challenge. Embracing each opportunity as an adventure, she has her own business, has established a non-profit and is a strong advocate for Canine Companions for Independence, where she was partnered with her Hearing Dog Ninja. She is excited to embark on this new Adventure, feeling confident that her business background along with her life experiences will be an asset in moving into unchartered waters, as she becomes the Differently Abled Agent for the Differently Abled.
